Opportunity for local artists in Ottawa

jane-cass-blue-door

Good Eats has a sense of community and is aware of the difficulty that local artists have in finding places to display and sell their art, So Good Eats Cafe supports local Ottawa artists at their cafe by displaying new artwork monthly.

Each month we showcase a different artist and give them an opportunity to sell their art by the cafe’s exposure. No commission is taken and there is a very small hanging fee to slightly offset the professional gallery hanging system.

New submissions are always welcome. Artists can submit their work by emailing us.

Share your artwork in our cafe today!

January-February 2019 Artist Nancy Brandsma

Upcoming Show & Vernissage

I Am Stain is a landscape of vulnerability, an unveiled hidden and voiceless part of self that no longer needs concealment. It beckons the onlooker to connect with something in them that cannot be removed as the result of a collision — the foreseen randomness of life itself.” (Text captured by Denis Mateo for Nancy Brandsma)

Complete artist statement

« Je suis tache est un paysage de vulnérabilité, une partie cachée et sans voix de soi qui n’a plus besoin de se cacher. Il invite le spectateur à se connecter avec quelque chose en eux qui ne peut pas être supprimé et qui a surgit à la suite d’une collision — il s’agit du caractère aléatoire mais prévu de la vie elle-même. » (Texte capturé par Denis Mateo pour Nancy Brandsma)

October 2018 Artist - Jane Cass

A self-taught, award winning, nature and landscape photographer, Jane enjoys and embraces the diversely rich vistas primarily of eastern Ontario.

Using what could be called Digital Impressionism, through the use of light, patterns and texture she  evokes an emotional connection between the viewer and her work. Whether it’s capturing the aura of serenity of a centuries old farm, local wildlife, the cloaked secrets of a morning mist, or the history laden stones of bridges and abandoned houses, Jane has often wandered down roads less traveled.

September 2018 Artist - David Becker

David makes primarily photo-based art in a minimalist, abstract style, as well as travel photos and drawings. He has exhibited his work in the Ottawa region, Toronto, Los Angeles and Barcelona.

David’s intent is to encourage the viewer to see and appreciate the world in new and unique ways.
